Rafidain Nursing students launch an awareness campaign on the dangers of  tattoos.

Believing in the importance of volunteer work and enhancing the spirit of social responsibility among students, the college of Nursing at the University of Bilad Al-Rafidain  organized an awareness campaign on the health risks of tattoos and Tatto, with the participation of students of the third stage and the supervision of Dr. Nadia Abdel Latif.

The campaign aims to spread health awareness about the negative effects of tattoos, which may lead to skin infections, allergic reactions, and the transmission of serious viral infection such as viral hepatitis and HIV. The event witnessed a great interaction from students and the public, as the participants provided scientific explanations and medical advice on these risks, stressing the importance of safe alternatives to beauty.

This initiative comes within a series of events organized by the college, in confirmation of the role of the effective students in volunteer work, and to consolidate the principle of community service and promote healthy culture between its members.

The Department of Optical Technologies organizes field visits to examine the eyesight of students in primary and secondary schoolWithin the framework of strengthening the university’s role in serving the community, the Department of Optical Technologies at the University of Bilad Al-Rafidain  organized field visits to a number of primary and secondary schools, with the aim of examining the vision of students and diagnosing cases that may require medical follow -up, as part of a health program that seeks to early detection of vision problems and enhance awareness of the importance of careWith eyes.

Al Khamayel Primary School

Alhuriya High School for Girls

Umm Salamah High School for Girls

Where the department's professors and his students, under the supervision of a specialized staff, conducted visual examinations for students, provided medical guidance on how to maintain eye health, and the importance of reviewing specialized doctors when needed. Awareness cards containing preventive guidelines have been distributed to reduce visually impaired problems, especially those resulting from excessive use of electronic devices and poor lighting during reading.

The role of the university in community service:

These visits come within the continuous efforts of the Department of Optical Technologies in supporting community health initiatives, based on the university's belief in the importance of early detection of vision problems and its role in improving the academic achievement of students, as the sound vision is an essential factor in improving academic performance and avoiding learning difficulties resulting from twiceUnlawful vision.Thanks and appreciation:

On the occasion of the International Day of Obesity, the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Bilad Al-Rafidain  organized a scientific symposium and an awareness campaign under the title //

 (Health challenges facing obesity)

 And Dr. Abdul Salam Harfish on Tuesday 4/3/2015.

The activities were opened with a lecture by Dr. Haider Abdel Hafez, which dealt with the definition of obesity as one of the most prominent global health problems, and its negative effects on human health, and their serious complications such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure, were highlighted, after which Dr. Abdel Salam Harfash had taken the spread of obesity in society and the most importantIts causes are due to several factors, including: _Unhealthy lifestyle

 Lack of physical activity and wrong eating habits.

These activities, which are held by the College of Pharmacy as a contribution and faith in the role of the college in educating the community of healthy healthy habits. This day is a global day approved by the World Health Organization for awareness of the dangers of obesity
