An awareness symposium at the University of Bilad Al-Rafidain on the use of medicines in Ramadan

On Sunday, March 2, 2025, the Division of Women's Affairs, in cooperation with the College of Pharmacy at Bilad Al-Rafidain University organized a scientific symposium entitled "Using Medicines in Ramadan: Between Protection and Prevention", presented by:

The symposium aimed to provide scientific instructions and recommendations for students of medical specialties on how to provide appropriate health care for fasting patients, with a focus on adjusting treatment plans for chronic diseases during the holy month. The effect of methods of taking medications through the mouth, nose, and lungs has also been clarified, with highlighting the common drugs and alternatives to them.

The symposium also dealt with ways to enhance patients ’commitment to treatment during fasting, and raising awareness about some pharmaceutical forms that may raise questions about their impact on the validity of fasting. This event came within the framework of the university's efforts to enhance health awareness and ensure the safety of patients during the holy month of Ramadan.
