About the Department

Establishment
The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Bilad Alraifdain was established in 2011. It aims to prepare cadres in various professional sports teams required in various fields. It also aims to develop sports talents based on scientific biological, physiological, philosophical and psychological foundations, and to work on developing the motor skills of young people through theoretical and practical learning stages.

Vision, mission and goals

Vision
The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences aspires to be among the internationally accredited scientific colleges by raising its scientific and administrative level and for the college to be a pioneer in the field of scientific research to serve the Iraqi, Arab and international community.
Message
Preparing qualitative, qualified and specialized scientific cadres in the field of physical education and sports sciences to contribute to the advancement of school sports and community health, as well as preparing researchers in the field of sports sciences to advance the Iraqi sports movement at various levels.
Objectives
Preparing teachers for the study of physical education for secondary school stages who are familiar with the physical, educational and social aspects.
Working to develop the sports movement for all sectors of the state in cooperation with the relevant authorities (Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Olympic Committee).
Contributing to spreading sports culture and working to make sports one of the important means of bringing people together.
Contributing to serving the community through education about practicing sports and its positive effects on public health (spreading health awareness of practicing sports) for the individual and developing sports education curricula in a way that serves the progress and advancement of society.
Preparing qualified scientific cadres to work in the fields of scientific research and sports training to develop the reality of Iraqi sports.
Contributing to leading the sports movement through qualitative scientific cadres.
